Birthday or reunion between friends in Normandy: ten ideas.

Private dinner, cruise, photo shoot: organising a great moment without stress, in Arromanches and around.

Villa Bellevue façade, ideal for groups of friends

Gathering ten friends for a weekend is no small thing: you need a house that welcomes everyone without cramming, a setting that changes from usual urban Airbnbs, and a few ideas to make it memorable.

Arromanches ticks the boxes. Here are ten ideas that have worked for our travellers.

1. The chef-at-home dinner

Several Bessin chefs come to the home. Plan €35 to €70 per person depending on the formula, produce included. You can book a menu around local produce: Côte de Nacre oysters, winter scallops, stuffed shells, Bessin cheeses. We connect you with our address book.

2. The sunset cruise

From Courseulles or Port-en-Bessin (15 minutes from Arromanches), several providers offer end-of-day sea trips. 1h30 to 2h, from €25 per person. Aperitif on board possible. Unequalled view over the D-Day coast and cliffs.

3. The souvenir photo shoot

A local photographer for one hour on the seawall or beaches — group shots with Mulberry B in the background. Plan €200 to €400 for the set.

4. Land sailing

At Asnelles (Gold Beach), 3 km. From €30 per person for 2 hours. Sensations guaranteed, fun atmosphere, perfect for a hen do or a 30-something birthday. Ask for the "intro + race" option for spice.

5. The pétanque tournament on the seawall

Simpler, more accessible. Boules available at the town hall. Pétanque area 100 metres from the villa. Far funnier than it sounds, especially with an aperitif integrated.

6. The cider and calvados tasting

At Distillerie Christian Drouin (Coudray-Rabut, 1h) or closer at Cidrerie de la Galotière, organise an estate visit with tasting. Plan €8 to €15 per person. Ideal early afternoon before returning to the villa.

7. The mini D-Day rally

Half a day to organise between cars, with puzzles to solve on D-Day sites. We give you the framework on request — our suggestion for teenage groups or high school reunions.

8. The games evening on the big table

The villa's dining room seats ten without issue. Bring classic board games (Time's Up, Codenames, Just One) — our favourite method to end a weekend.

9. Breakfast on the seawall

Purchase the evening before at the village bakery (Place du 6 juin). In the morning, thermos coffee and pastries on the large south terrace. Shells on the beach at low tide as free entertainment.

10. The 360 cinema evening

If you want to add depth to your stay: the last 360 cinema screening (around 7pm in summer), followed by a picnic or aperitif on the cliff. Guaranteed emotion, and free afterwards.

To avoid

Important

Noisy bachelor/bachelorette parties

The villa does not accept bachelor/bachelorette parties. It's an 1857 house in a residential village: neighbours to respect, and that type of party isn't our audience. A friendly birthday, a nice dinner: yes, no problem.

Our organisational tip

Book the villa Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday: with 3-4 days, you have time to arrive, settle in, live 2 big days of activity, and enjoy a last quiet morning before departure. A simple weekend (2 nights) is possible but often frustrating for a group.
